Birdland
12 May 2022

Over at Cycle365 the Challenge of the Month involves photos of birds. When it comes to Animalia Chordata Aves, one of the best spots around here is Spring Lake. That's not far away. I walk and ride around the lake all the time.

So off I went on two wheels to see what the avians were up to today.

Lots of babies this time of year. The paved path around the lake becomes the Goose Poop Trail.

More babies.

I think this is gosling day care.

Elders discussing issues of the day.

The quail are usually very friendly, fearless, and inquisitive along here, but they refused to come out and visit the Ogre today.

Nesting?

Caught the blur of a bird in flight (just above the saddle) and somebody hiding in the shadows off to the right.

Here he is.

For Rich.

I couldn't get a better angle on this guy without running the risk of scaring him off.

Who dat?

Zooming in.

Sailing majestically across Spring Lake.
