Mud, Scum, Leaves, and Sun
9 December 2021
After a chilly, foggy, drizzly ride on Monday, today offered something a little warmer and sunnier.
Flat Rock at Brush Creek.
Hood Mountain and Gunsight Rock.
Pedaling through mud.
Parts of the lake have been invaded and covered with green algae scum.
The scum, with tiny shining droplets of water, close up.
I snapped this photo of the lake covered in scum a couple of days ago.
Off the mud and onto the leaves.
Tunnel of trees.
Shooting straight up.
A mosaic at the memorial pavilion at the park.
For the heck of it, I googled the name and found a WWII POW.
Then, looking closely at the mosaic, I noticed in small letters "POW WWII."
Old Grumble-Face enjoys the sun before pedaling home.
