Fountains of Silver, August 2018
Sprayground and Greenway: A Photographic Log
14 August 2018, 24 miles

Just another typical cruise out the Greenway and back, but there's always something new.

First, the sprayground was back in operation today after being closed for repairs last time I was at the Big Fish. That enabled me to snap fountains of silver liquid—okay, it was only water—for the Cycle365 Challenge of the Month for August.

Second, by sheer chance I spotted a drowned shopping cart where it met its fate under the pedestrian bridge over the Greenway and Santa Rosa Creek. This required a photo for Tony, who photographed a very similar scene recently in the land Down Under.

Third, while I was photographing the sad fate of the shopping cart, I was hailed by someone who recognized me. I can ride, but I can't hide. Details below.

The sprayground at the little park with the Big Fish at the terminus of the Greenway path.

Press the green button, and for a few minutes fountains of water randomly shoot up from 25 different sprayers. Little kids love it. Sometimes I'm tempted.

Tony, this is for you.

Reminiscent of Armidale in New South Wales, eh?

While I was snapping the picture of the drowned shopping cart in Santa Rosa Creek, a rider pulled up and asked, "Are you Bill Stone?"

This turned out to be John from nearby Sebastopol, who recognized me from my blogs. He's all set for his first tour, and just needs to pull the trigger when the time is right. Good guy. I suspect we'll hear more from him.
