Spring Lake Trees, June 2018
Scouting more trees: A Photographic Log
4 June 2018, 9 miles

Over at Cycle365, the Challenge of the Month for June involves photographing tree(s) and bicycle. Once again, I'm scouting around for interesting trees for practice before I tackle some impressive timber I have in mind. This kind of challenge is actually quite inspirational. I find myself riding familiar routes, but looking at the scenery with fresh eyes.

Today I pedaled a short distance to Spring Lake. The distance was short—only nine miles round trip—but it took me two hours because I stopped so often to photograph, or consider photographing, trees that caught my eye. I ended up with some photos from Spring Lake, some from the route to and from the lake, some from my immediate neighborhood, and some from my own yard.

Here are the photos I snapped, some of them jazzed up a bit just for the fun of it.
