Timber Cruising the Greenway, June 2018
Scouting trees: A Photographic Log
1 June 2018, 24 miles

Over at Cycle365, the Challenge of the Month for June involves photographing tree(s) and bicycle. That's actually a fairly tricky assignment. Lining up an interesting shot of a bike with a tree isn't always easy, especially when attempting to fit all of a tall tree into the frame.

I have a few trees in mind for the Challenge, but I wasn't quite ready to tackle them. Instead I decided to take my usual leisurely cruise out the Greenway, keeping my eyes open for some experimental photos for practice if I spotted any likely timber.

I ended up with a few mildly interesting shots—I won't even bother to caption them—but it's clear I need a lot of practice and hard work if I want to cover myself with arboreal glory during the Challenge of the Month.

PS: I know nothing about trees. I can barely distinguish a pine from an oak. Fortunately, my son has a Bachelor of Science in Forestry, so I might call on him for assistance. He knows a lot about timber cruising.
